“In response to comments posted by fans, I want to clarify a statement made from the stage on Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert in Pittsburgh. Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from FINAL FANTASY XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert. We sincerely regret any confusion this has cause.”

It has been rumoured before that Valve, known for it’s highly successful Steam service, as well as the Half-Life and Portal franchises, has been working on hardware. Valve has apparently confirmed the previously debunked rumours via a job listing, saying:
“Valve is traditionally a software company. Open platforms like the PC and Mac are important to us, as they enable us and our partners to have a robust and direct relationship with customers. We’re frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space though, so we’re jumping in.”

The game is scheduled to release early next year in February.

Sony has revealed it’s recent quarterly sales, which show that Sony’s Game Department has seen a loss of 3.5 Billion Yen (Roughly AUD$42.5 Million).
This year saw the release of Sony’s second major handheld console, PlayStation Vita. The device has not been fairing too well in the markets, and the reason for this may possibly be related to the small range of software available for the console. Sony has also lowered the sale prediction for the PlayStation Vita and PSP from 16 million units, down to 12 million.
On top of this, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PSP have all seen steep drops in sale numbers. This seems to be an expected change, as a new console generation is just on the horizon.
The upcoming Android based console, OUYA, will team up with Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy III to the tiny home console. The new 1.7 patch will feature mounted combat and brand new kill cams, but does not add the Dawnguard DLC as it did on the Xbox 360.
We’ve all heard about Final Fantasy XIV’s original launch and how the game lacked something special, even essential, when it was first released on the PC. Square-Enix was dedicated to improving the overall quality of the game, before it’s PlayStation 3 launch, something that many companies would ignore once the game has technically been developed and finished.
The new update, originally titled Final Fanatsy XIV 2.0 has been built from the ground up to truly turn what was considered a rather poor effort, into something grander and more enjoyable for long-standing fans and newcomers of the series. The update will feature a new world to explore and a new storyline to follow.
The overhaul has been renamed Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and will launch for the PlayStation 3 and PC sometime soon (PC as an update, and PlayStation 3 as a retail release)
Rumours have begun circulating that Sega may be working on a third entry in one of Sonic the Hedgehog’s most well-loved sub-series.
Roughly three months ago, eight Sonic Adventure 3 domains were scooped up by the same 1&1 Hosting division in France, suggesting that those domain names may be parked for the future. This news should be taken extremely lightly at this point, but at the very least, Sonic Adventure 3 remains a slight possibility.
Sonic Adventure was first released for the Dreamcast in 1998 and marked the turning point in the series, leading Sonic towards a 3D platforming future. Sonic Adventure 2 was released in 2001 and is still regarded as one of he best 3D Sonic games in existence. Just recently, Sega announced a HD rerelease of Sonic Adventure 2 will be coming to Xbox Live and PSN sometime this year. The release would definitely help coincide with an announcement of a third game in the Sonic Adventure series.
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is receiving positive reviews across the board and the game will release on July 26 in Australia and July 31 in North America. The game has already been released in Europe.

Below is the launch trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Billy and Kimmy will be coming out to play in a fresh take on Double Dragon that will be hitting XBLA and PSN in just two months. After a relatively surprising reveal during E3 this year, Nintendo confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be releasing for their upcoming console, Wii U. Although it’s a rather strange third party release, considering the connection that the game has with previous entries in the series, Mass Effect 3 is still a stellar game and tends to act as a proving point that Nintendo’s next console will be able to compete with current-generation consoles at the very least.
The series producer, Michael Gamble, revealed that the extended ending that was released recently will be included on disc for the Wii U version. What still hasn’t been revealed though is how the key story points from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 that affect Mass Effect 3 will be incorporated into this game. Perhaps it will be similar to how Mass Effect 2 worked on the PlayStation 3, but at this point, all guesses are as good as mine.
Mass Effect 3 was released early this year in March for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No date has been announced yet for the Wii U edition.
Nintendo has still not revealed a release date for the Wii U, but it is likely that once they do, we will know when Mass Effect 3 will be releasing. Most probably on launch day.
After a recently leaked Xbox Live placement, Sonic Adventure 2 has officially been confirmed for a re-release on Xbox Live and PSN this year. At this years San Diego Comic-Con 2012, SEGA revealed that Sonic Adventure 2 will indeed be releasing sometime during Spring for us in Australia (and sometime in Fall for the States).
Sonic Adventure 2 remains to be one of the best modern Sonic the Hedgehog games and it was one of the last great Dreamcast games to be released before the system was killed.
Below is a brand spanking, and overly shiny, new trailer for the upcoming 3DS game, New Super Mario Bros. 2. The Ouya will be Android based and will give developers an extremely ‘easy to develop for’ piece of hardware that even welcomes hackers. Right now it is said that all games will be free and the console itself will cost only $99.
The Kickstarter fund is set at $950,000 and has already blasted past $2,600,000, with 28 days still remaining. The pledges just keep on coming in, even during writing this news post, the funding has increased by $15,000. A video that outlines much of the basics surrounding the console can be seen on the Kickstarter page. The Ouya will release in March, 2013.

ComicBookMovie has revealed news of a Legend of Zelda anime based on the A Link to the Past Manga and game. The Web series will feature well known voice actors such as Vic Mignogna from the Dragonball Z and Fullmetal Alchemist Dubs). The series will be developed by Zelda Motion, and a statement from them reads as follows:
"Officially, Zeldamotion is a project run by Aeipathy Industries. Mike Patch (Mechawatts) has started this on his own and will finish it on his own. The incredible voice acting cast featuring Todd Haberkorn (Allen Walker, from D-Grayman), Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric, from Full Metal Alchemist), Kent Williams (Father from Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood) and Kira Buckland (Princess and Medusa, from Castle Crashers), has already recorded their roles and is being synced up to the animations.
The new trailer will be available within the next couple of weeks, to go along with the Kickstarter to help funding this and future episodes. I will finish the project with or without the Kickstarter or other funding. Kickstarter or other funding will just make it happen sooner, and enable future episodes to be done in a fraction of the time."
Stay tuned for news on the first official trailers, as well as information regarding the Kickstarter fund.

Phil Fish, the creative mind behind one of this years best most memorable Xbox Live Arcade games has revealed that he is currently working on two new titles for release in the future. Fez was in development for over 5 years, and the experience has left Phil Fish ‘exhausted and traumatised.’ He will continue to pursue his career in game development, along with his game company, Polytron. A patch was recently released for Fez, but the upgrade led to save data errors across the board. The patch has been pulled by Microsoft, with Polytron announcing ‘we will keep you updated on the situation.’
There is a new trailer for the collaboration game between Namco Bandai Games, Capcom and SEGA titled Project X Zone. The trailer features some of the characters that will be in the game as well as some of the varied gameplay, and even in Japanese, the trailer reveals a lot about the upcoming game. Currently the game is only announced for a Japanese release, but lets all hope that it gets an english localisation at some point. Sooner rather than later.
The first is Pokémon Typing Adventure for the Nintendo DS. The game was initially released in Japan last year under the name of Pokémon Battle & Get, but for obvious reasons, it wasn’t released elsewhere. Nintendo has now confirmed that the game will be coming, along with the keyboard peripheral, which will be compatible with other bluetooth connections.
Secondly, Nintendo confirmed that Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, which was also released in Japan last year, will be coming to 3DS owners late this year, one year after its initial release. It was only a matter of time until Nintendo announced the game for North America, Europe and Australia and at least we now know it will be coming.
Nintendo also announced that Fire Emblem 3DS will be coming, which we already knew thanks to Reggie spilling the beans during E3 this year. It won’t be released until early 2013 though. Also, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing for the 3DS will be coming early 2013 as well, but like Fire Emblem, no trailer or official name was revealed.

The console will be titled the 3DS XL and will be released in Red, Blue and Silver. It will be hitting stores on August 19th however, which is a bit disappointing since it will be released in Europe around the end of July.
[22.06.12 - 1:57pm]
During Nintendo of Japan’s recent direct broadcast, a new 3DS model was announced. The new 3DS will be titled the 3DS LL and will feature a much larger screen, and improved battery life. The system will, however, not come bundled with an AC adapter. This was a decision they announced that will reduce the cost of the upcoming console. It will be compatible with the DSi and 3DS adapter though.
The system will come in three colours, White, Red + Black and Silver + Black. Stay tuned to the Nintendo of Europe broadcast shortly to see information that is more relative to Australia.

Okami is a vibrant game with a unique art style and the upgrade into HD will allow players to be immersed in a way that wasn’t possible before.
Nintendo of America has since announced that they will be streaming a North American specific Direct broadcast, alongside Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of Japan. The broadcast will begin at 2:00pm AEST, at the same time as Nintendo of Europe’s broadcast. For us here in Australia, Nintendo of Europe’s broadcast will be the more accurate one to watch in relation to releases in Australia.
[21.06.2012 - 9:33pm]
Nintendo of Japan has announced that they will be streaming a new Direct Broadcast tomorrow at 12pm local time (1:00pm AEST). Nintendo of Europe has also announced that they will stream the direct broadcast in English at 5am local time (2:00pm AEST). Neither Nintendo of America or Nintendo of Australia have announced their own english translation stream at this time, but they may announce it shortly, as they have done this many times in the past. Stay tuned to the site to see what Nintendo reveals if you are unable to watch the broadcast tomorrow.

The leaked information suggests that the console will release for $299US and will be very focused on providing a multimedia experience for the living room environment.
This news should be taken lightly of course, as Microsoft has not confirmed any of the information revealed in the document, only saying that they do not comment on rumour or speculation. The original document has since been taken down.

Never-Ending Adventure, Gundorada Workshop, Veniccio, Battle for the Future.
Released as Dark Cloud 2 in North America, Dark Chronicle is the sequel to Dark Cloud by Level-5 (White Knight Chronicles, Professor Layton). It is composed by Tomohito Nishiura, one of my personal favourite video game composers, who also worked on the soundtrack to Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, White Knight Chronicles and the Professor layton Series. Nishiura has a distinct style that echoes through all he’s video game compositions.
The introduction song to Dark Chronicles is a perfect summary of the entire adventure thats experienced in the game. The song plays during the introduction video to the game and is a great away for players to get a sense of what the game is going to offer. Its a large, grand game with many locations and the introduction song helps sum up the entire experience.
One of the many locations in the game, Gundorada Workshop is a huge area with mechanical buildings and elevators. The OST version of the song is slightly different, with the In-Game song being a little more atmospheric. This version is the OST version.
Veniccio is a location in the game that is situated near a beach and has that distinct vibe to it. The track is slightly similar sounding to a track called ‘Queens’ from the original Dark Cloud and both locations have some similarities to them. Its an upbeat song with the emphasis on the rhythm guitar and the melodic woodwind instrument.
Battle for the Future
I chose a fourth track for this weeks VGM of the Week because the soundtrack to Dark Chronicle is very broad and has some really great tunes. Battle for the Future is one of the most powerful songs on the soundtrack and is played during many of the boss battles in the game. It is one of the stand out tracks.

The movie will be released this year on Boxing Day, the 26th of December.
Out of our Microsoft E3 predictions, we did pretty good. Out of 13 predictions we were right about 6 of them. Firstly, they did show Halo 4 of course, but didn’t show Kinect integration. Although, Kinect integration will be available. Apart from that, most of it was rather straightforward.
Sony was next and out of 15 predictions, we guessed 6 again. No BioShock, no Gran Turismo, no The Last Guardian, no Final Fantasy and no Kingdom Hearts.
Lastly, Nintendo held their conference and out of 20 predictions, we guessed 9. During the conference a lot of focus was put on the Wii U and no brand new Nintendo games, apart from Pikmin 3 and Nintendo Land, were announced. None from Zelda, Donkey Kong, Metroid, F-Zero or Kirby.

Alongside this announcement, Nintendo also revealed a new controller named the ‘Wii U Pro Controller.’ This controller is said to offer a more classic take on video game control, and looks quite unique and practical at the same time.
Lastly, Nintendo discussed a little bit about its upcoming network system, which will include a system titled ‘Miiverse.’ This will work a social connection device where players can interact with friends and others around the world and will show players who are playing certain games. For example, an icon will appear representing a certain game. Crowded around that icon will be all the Mii’s from players who are playing that game at that time. You can then chat with those people and discuss the game in general, or ask for help if you are stuck in a certain area. Also, when you chat with other people, you can use the Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen to type, or you can even use the screen to draw an image, much like the 3DS’s SwapNote application.

The DLC will release on Xbox 360 this year and will cost 1600 Microsoft points. The add-on will be exclusive to Xbox 360 for 30 days, and then will be available for PlayStation 3 and PC after that time.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII first appeared in 2006 and since then not much information has been revealed, more specifically in the past couple of years. This video suggests that Final Fantasy XIII Versus has now been renamed Final Fantasy VX and will be coming to PlayStation 3 and Wii U. This is exciting news, if its true, because a main-line Final Fantasy game hasn’t appeared on a Nintendo console since Final Fantasy VI, which was released in 1994, 18 years ago. The important thing to note is that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was said to be a more action-RPG oriented game and if it’s released as Final Fantasy XV it would change the more traditional turn-based style of what the series has been known for. Regardless, all will be known next week during E3.

Just as the news post went up, we discovered a new teaser trailer for the upcoming MMO. You can check it out below.
The Elder Scrolls MMO that was previously talked about has been officially announced and will be the cover story for the June issue of GameInformer magazine. The game, by Bethesda Softworks, has currently only been announced for PC and Mac and will be released sometime in 2013. Currently not much is known about the game, except that it will take place 1000 years before the events of Skyrim and will centre around a story involving the Daedric prince Molag Bal. Also, the game will take place across multiple areas of Tamriel. More information will be revealed in the next few days so stay tuned.

It has recently been confirmed however for an American release on June 18, 2012, under the title of Pokémon Conquest. It is not known whether the game will be released in Europe or Australia at this stage, but with it being announced for the U.S, we can surely hope that it will be announced here as well.

The source supplied some general specifications about the console, but seeing as its rumored to not be released for nearly two more years, these specs will likely change, even if they are accurate.
- AMD x64 CPU
- AMD Southern Island GPU
- Resolution of 4096x2160
- 3D games in 1080p
The source also stated that select developers have been given dev kits for the new console.
Some more unconfirmed information about the systems capabilities have also been revealed. The upcoming console will not be backwards compatible with PlayStation 3 games and the system will include some sort of piracy measure that will restrict users from playing pre-owned or used games. In order to play these used games, consumers will need to pay a fee to unlock or register the game.
One of the many FAKE prototype images of Sony’s next console.
It’s important to remember that none of this information is confirmed at this stage but is offered up by a source who has been reliable in the past. Only time will tell what Sony plans to do with an upcoming console and only Sony will be the company responsible for confriming this information.
An Epic Mickey game has also been announced via Nintendo Power magazine for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be titled Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion and will be developed by Dreamrift, who were also the developers for the Nintendo DS title Monster Tale.
The developers for ‘Epic Mickey 2’, Junction Point, have officially announced the sequel to the rather successful ‘Epic Mickey’ that was released in 2010.
The sequel will be titled ‘Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’ and will be released sometime in the second half of this year for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. There was no planned release for Wii U which was speculated when rumours first emerged about Epic Mickey 2. There were also recent rumours that suggested an Epic Mickey game would be coming to 3DS as well but that has not been announced.
The game has been revealed to have co-op, full-voice acting and a stronger focus on the games music, as well as featuring the disney character ‘Lucky the Rabbit.’
The game is rhythm game that includes memorable songs and characters from past Final Fantasy games. It also features paid DLC, a first for the 3DS, which has not yet been confirmed for US or Europe. The game has not been officially announced for release in Australia yet, but as the game is being released in Europe, it will most likely hit our shores.
You can check out more info, and pre-order the game (with a discount incentive) here.
There is some concept art, as well as a reveal trailer for the game which can all be seen below.
Not many details have been revealed about this upcoming game, except that they will be released on the Nintendo DS (not the 3DS) and that they will feature the same generation of Pokémon from Black and White. The game is scheduled to be released in Japan in June of this year. Let’s just hope they can localise the game for an English release sometime before the year is out. The game will also feature two new forms of the legendary Pokémon, Kyurem, which can be seen below.
Nintendo recently released a trailer showcasing how the multiplayer works. The trailer can be seem below.
The Kid Icarus series has not seen a game in over 20 years and this release is a new twist on the franchise, with the character design coming from the latest Smash Bros. game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Now that Sakurai has finished up on development on Kid Icarus: Uprising, he will begin development on the new upcoming Smash Bros. games for Wii U and 3DS.
‘Two new DLC costumes for noel and Serah.’
With the Wii lacking in future releases, it would be a shame to not see such highly praised games given a deserved release in English regions.

The game has been said to complete the story of Desmond.
Its unsure what systems the game will be released on, but we can assume Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Also, it is likely that we will see the game on the upcoming Wii U, as it was previously announced that an Assassin’s Creed game was headed to the Wii U.
- Final Fantasy II - Battle Scene 1
- Final Fantasy IV - The Final Battle
- Final Fantasy IX - Fighters of the Crystal
- Final Fantasy V - Hikari wo Motomete
- Final Fantasy VII - Cosmo Canyon
- Final Fantasy VIII - Ride On
- Final Fantasy X - Someday the Dream Will End
The game has not been confirmed for release outside of Japan as of yet. It would be great to see this game released elsewhere. Final Fantasy is a huge worldwide franchise and the game would prove to be quite successful due to the brand name.
We have seen number of remastered games in the past year (Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid Collection) and this is great for people who want to experience these games again or for those who missed them the first time they appeared. It would have been fantastic to see a Final Fantasy PS2 collection, with Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XII all bundled together, but this release will do just fine, as Final Fantasy X is (in my opinion) one of the best entries in the series. The game will be released on the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita, no release date has been announced yet.
Sony’s PSN branding took a beating last year when the well-documented PSN hack occurred, this will also allow Sony to release some of the stigma that may be associated with the name PSN.

It seems Nintendo is finally catching up with the times and this is a great indication of the things to come for Nintendo’s future.
A new trailer has officially revealed Mega Man and Pac-Man, as well as Cole, for the Playstation versions of Street Fighter X Tekken. We get to see Mega Man in a whole new light. Make sure to check out the trailer below.
In a trailer that was released for Street Fighter X Tekken a week ago, a number of new characters were revealed for the upcoming collaboration game. These characters include Balrog, Vega and Juri from Street Fighter and Paul, Law and Xiaoyu from Tekken.
The interesting part of the trailer however was right at the end when it was teased that Pac-Man and Mega Man may be playable characters in the Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken.
You can check out the video trailer below. A release date hasn’t been confirmed as of yet for Australia, but the game will be released in North America on March 6th and Europe on March 9th. We can be sure that the game will be released down under shortly after.
To put this into perspective, based on these rumours, the Xbox 360 successor will be six times more powerful than the current Xbox 360 and roughly 20% more powerful than Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U.
Also, more rumours have been floating around suggesting that it may use Blu-ray discs and may sport some kind of ‘anti-used-game’ technology. This could be a real downer for those who want to resell, or lend a game to someone else. However, it also poses the possibility that games will have a lower price tag because of this. Only time will tell what Xbox plans to do with its future console.
Looks like Australia will be receiving the game a day earlier than those in Europe. The Last Story will be released for the Wii on February 23, 2012. Get excited for the latest game by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the famed developer of the Final Fantasy series.
The Last Story, an action RPG game for the Wii that was released to rave reviews in Japan, has been given a release date for Europe. The Japanese RPG, which was developed by Mistwalker, a company that was founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, received a 38/40 in a Famitsu review, with two of the reviewers giving the game a perfect 10. This is great news for Wii owners who enjoy the RPG genre.
The Game will be hitting shelves in Europe on the 24th of February, which means that Australia may be seeing a release sometime after. The game hasn’t been announced for North America as of yet, but seeing how Xenoblade Chronicles eventually got a release date in North America, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they got one for The Last Story too.
The Wii is a system that is lacking in RPG games, especially those with great reviews, and the release of The Last Story in Europe is helping breath fresh life into the ‘over five year old’ console. Stay tuned to the site for any news on an Australian release date.
Alongside the announcement, the UK trailer was shown, which can be seen below. This is exciting news for Resident Evil fans and this game appears to be bigger and more traditional then Resident Evil 5. Check out the trailer below, as well as an excerpt from the official press release.
‘It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member, Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.’
Looks like this appears to be a fake. It seemed a little off considering the strange name and oddly designed logo, but it is still a great attempt to fool us all. Stay tuned for any more information regarding a future Zelda title.
A rumour has appeared stating that the upcoming Legend of Zelda game for 3DS will be released as two titles, much like the Oracle of Seasons/Ages games and similar to what Pokemon have done with every major release.
An image has been found of two logos for the potential future games which can be seen below. The Japanese text translates to “Fire Prophecy” and “Ice Prophecy.” The images first appeared on 4Chan.
Fingers crossed that we hear some more details about the upcoming games, and the validity of these logos. Either way, this is exciting news for Zelda fans if it does turn out to have some truth to it.
Early on, Nintendo announced that they were working on two new Zelda titles. Most presumed that they meant one for the 3DS and one for the upcoming Wii U, but this simultaneous release may be more what they meant.
The special edition version of the RPG will feature:
- A copy of the game
- A Premium Steelbook
- A mini art book
- A Soundtrack CD consisting of 7 Tracks from the game.
This edition will be released alongside the regular version on February 24th and is currently listed at 75 Euros. This is good news for Australian fans as it introduces the possibility of Australia seeing the same special edition also. Stay tuned for any news regarding this.
The first is a full-fledged release for the 3DS coming from the Harvest Moon franchise, titled Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns. Tale of Two Towns is a remake of a game of the same name for the DS. It is very similar, with a few minor changes, including 3D support.
The second is a Virtual Console game that was rated for release in Japan titled The Fortress of Fury 2. This game is the sequel to Fortified Zone, which was released on the VC sometime last year. This game however, was never released outside of Japan, so there is currently no word on whether it will be released any where else.
You can check out the video below:
It seems the team working on Episode 2 have taken on a lot of what the fans have said about the first episode and are making adjustments to the second episode, even changing the graphics engine, as well as the physics engine. This is a strange concept, to fully change the engine considering it’s an episodic game, but I believe this is will be a welcome change. Personally playing and completing Episode 1, I felt that the physics and the control of Sonic didn’t feel how it should. The fact that Sonic stopped dead in he’s tracks when you stopped holding the right button felt completely foreign to me, and it shouldn’t, considering i’ve played many Sonic games. I think they hit the nail on the head with the classic levels in Sonic Generations and am hoping that Episode 2 has more of a feel that is present in Sonic Generations.
During the direct feed video, it was also announced that the upcoming Fire Emblem game is titled Fire Emblem: Kakuse, for the Japanese release. No info on a name for its english release.
The game is a crossover game entitled ‘Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition.’
Check out the trailer below to get an understanding of what type of game it will be. It is being released for the Nintendo DS in Japan. No word on any other releases as of yet.
“It’s regrettable that government policy in Australia is denying adults the right to play Syndicate. The game will be not be available in Australia despite its enthusiastic response from fans. We were encouraged by the government’s recent agreement to adopt an 18+ age rating for games. However, delays continue to force an arcane censorship on games – cuts that would never be imposed on books or movies. We urge policy makers to take swift action to implement an updated policy that reflects today’s market and gives its millions of adult consumers the right to make their own content choices.”
This is sad news for those looking forward to this game. Syndciate has fallen to the same fate as many games that have been refused classification in Australia, like the recently, well received internationally, Mortal Kombat.
It’s good to see that Nintendo of Australia has followed in the footsteps of Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe and are offering players the chance to fix their save file if needed, so that players do not have to start their save file again, which would be bothersome, as the glitch appears close to the end of the game.

Looks like the original statement was more accurate. The PSN account is linked to the memory card AND the hardware. A full system restore is required to change accounts. This is a bit of a downer for those wishing to share a Playstation Vita.
The PSN account restrictions are linked to the Memory Card. By removing the memory card, and placing another one in the system, you can then be able to have another PSN account. More specifically, the accounts are tethered to the Vita’s memory card.
Looks like the upcoming portable console from Playstation, The Playstation Vita, will restrict users from using multiple PSN accounts on the device. The console will be tethered to a single PSN account, and if the user wishes to change the account, they must first perform a full restore on their portable gaming device. This won’t affect single users really, but may be a burden for those who wish to share the device with brothers/sisters or anyone else. The Playstation Vita is due for release on February the 23rd, early next year, retailing at AUD$349.95.

Over the past years, the Tony Hawk video game franchise has mellowed down from a sports video game phenomena, to a repetitive, lack luster series. The year 2011 was the first year that the video game series did not see a release of any kind. But alas, fans of Tony Hawks skateboarding may be in for a treat as rumour has it that a new Tony Hawk’s game will be revealed at the upcoming Video Game Awards. ‘I’ll be announcing the upcoming release of something new on Sat; the same day as the Spike Video Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not.’
This is a pretty big hint as to what he will be announcing. Stay tuned for more information as the Video Game Awards is just a day away.
