Elysian Shadows is a game currently in development by the guys over at the Elysian Shadows Team. The group is planning on releasing the game on numerous platforms, including PC, OS X, iOS, Linux, Android, Ouya and Sega Dreamcast. The game will fuse familiar aspects of classic 16-bit games such as Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy and will also feature dynamic and fully 3D positional sound to create a totally immersive experience. The teams goal is to create what they are calling a “next-gen 2D RPG.” The games Kickstarter will launch on August 1st and can be found at elysianshadows.com/kickstarter. These tracks are still in their demo phase and may be altered before the games release.

Loren Museum
Loren Museum has a killer melody that begins right when the track kicks off. The piano enters after one loop of the melody, giving the track a more rounded out sound. On the third loop, only the piano and background strings are present, allowing the piano to shine through.

Menu Screen
The Menu Screen track has an instantly noticeable grandeur to it. The heavy drums and choir-like synths mix with elements of 8-bit sounds to merge classic gaming with a more modern sound.

Loren Town
The Loren Town Theme begins with a very straightforward 8-bit sound that evolves into something completely different as the track progresses. Through the songs music, this 1-minute demo expresses the goals of the Elysian Shadows Team in creating a game that takes advantage of what we can now do with technology, while fusing it with the 2D classic aspects of past gaming.
