Metal Gear was originally released on the MSX2 in 1987 and was the first game by Hideo Kojima. A later, heavily-modified NES port was made without the involvement of Kojima. We previously featured music from the NES version, but these tracks are from the original MSX2 version.

Red Alert
This track is the song that plays when you are spotted by enemies. Being a stealth game, most of the music is slower and tension building, but this track plays during hi-tense, action segments in the game and as such, the music is fitting.

Escape Beyond Big Boss
This song plays during the final moments in the game, when it’s an all out sprint to the finale. The song, just like the previous one, has a tremendous level of momentum.

Return Of The Fox Hounder
This track is very melody focused, with a great range in its delivery. The song is very different from the previous two, and is a more laid back theme with elements of minor action.
