After development began on a western-release sequel to the NES version of Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima, who was unaware of the sequels development, decided to make a sequel himself for the MSX2. This is considered to be the official sequel to Metal Gear.

Zanzibar Breeze
This track is an early game song that gives some of the games overall atmosphere. It has a focused bass line that is fitting with the games military themes.

Frequency 140.85
This song plays during safer times in the game. Metal Gear 2 is a stealth game, and as such there are moments with high tension, and moments of more relative ease. This song is based around the latter.

Tears
This track appears during story-related moments in the game and helps build emotion in it. It is a slow theme with a very methodical melody.

Level 1 Warning
The Level 1 Warning theme plays quite early on in the game and is a great background song the location of the first area. It has a focus on the rhythmic bass melody, which is accompanied by multiple melodies.
