Age of Empires became one of the most beloved real-time strategy games for the PC and spawned many even more successful sequels. The music in the series has been composed predominately by Stephen Rippy, and the music to the original Age of Empires also featured the musical creativity of his brother, David Rippy.

Dawn Of A New Age
There is a noticeable tribal feel to this track mainly due to the passionate beat. The track is one of the various background songs in the game and stands out as one of the more faster, beat driven tunes.

The Wind Gods
After the lengthy introduction featuring various bell sounds, a plucked string interment is introduced, as well as a very heavy bass beat. The bells then return and various other instruments are also introduced.

Rain begins with a repetitious guitar riff that is slowly expanded upon with the inclusion of a few more sounds and instruments. The song continues to change as it progresses, however, the initial riff stays constant throughout.
