The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (GBC)
Nayru’s Song, Sadness, Moonlit Grotto, Zora Village
Last week we took a look at the music found in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and it is only appropriate to, this week, dive into the music found in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. There are some recurring themes in both games, but the soundtrack to Ages feels a tad more sombre, with a more classic Zelda sound.
Both games are currently available in the 3DS eShop.
Nayru is one of the many recurring characters/entities in The Legend of Zelda. In the Oracle games, Nayru is the Oracle of Ages, and therefore her theme is very representative of this specific game.
This track is actually found in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. The track seems to fit more with Oracle of Ages, if only because the games music is more on the sombre and slow side compared to Oracle of Seasons.
Moonlit Grotto is the third dungeon in Oracle of Ages and is a more quicker tune than many of the other dungeon themes in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.
The theme to Zora Village takes a tiny bit of inspiration from the original Zora Theme from Ocarina of Time, but is very different in many ways. The nature of the original tune forces this version to be written differently. While it’s still obvious that there are some minor similarities between the two songs, this theme is still a very different tune.
